Tividale Community Primary Celebrates Inclusivity with Iconic Premier League Trophy Visit

Tividale Community Primary School pupils with the Premier League Trophy

The Premier League Trophy has been touring schools across the UK, and the pupils at Tividale Community Primary School were among the lucky selection to enjoy a truly memorable assembly. The visit, delivered by The Albion Foundation in partnership with the Premier League Active Allies programme, brought excitement, learning, and important messages about inclusion to the school community.

Throughout the assembly, pupils took part in an interactive presentation that introduced them to the history and significance of the iconic Premier League Trophy. They discovered fascinating facts, such as the meaning behind the coloured ribbons, and had the opportunity to ask questions that showcased their enthusiasm and football knowledge. Glenn Short, Primary School Partnership Manager, delivered an inspiring talk that brought the story of the Premier League to life and kept pupils captivated from the start to finish.

Primary Stars Classroom and Intervention Coach, Ocean McDonald, shared her reflections on the day: “The visit of the Premier League Trophy to Tividale was an unforgettable experience for the pupils. It created a real sense of excitement and inspiration, bringing football to life in a meaningful way.”

She went on to describe the activities that took place both in classrooms and during the assembly: “The activities were thoughtfully designed around football and disability, giving children a valuable insight into what it can feel like to take part in sport with additional challenges. Through practical, inclusive games, pupils developed empathy, understanding and respect for disabled athletes. Most importantly, the sessions encouraged children by showing that having a disability does not prevent anyone from enjoying, participating in, or succeeding in sport.”

Reflecting on the overall impact, she added: “It was a fantastic engagement opportunity that the children thoroughly enjoyed.”

The Premier League Trophy tour forms part of the wider Premier League Primary Stars Active Allies programmes, which aim to use football as a positive force for change in schools and the wider community. For the pupils of Tividale Community Primary, the trophy’s visit was more than just an exciting photo opportunity- it was a powerful lesson in teamwork, inclusivity, and pride. The experience aimed to motivate and inspire children to pursue their goals, no matter the challenges they may face.
