From local streets to international landmarks, participants went the extra mile to support the Foundation’s award-winning work in the community.
When the Albion Foundation launched Molumby’s Miles, inspired by fan-favourite Jayson Molumby, supporters across the country – and beyond – laced up their trainers, jumped on their bikes, and hit the road for a great cause. The challenge? Choose a Molumby-specific miles target and reach that goal throughout the month of November, raising funds for the Foundation’s award-winning work in the community.
With overall targets set for 2,000 miles and £5,000, participants didn’t just meet expectations – they shattered them. Collectively, they more than doubled the target miles and raised over £10,000, with 27% of participants exceeding their fundraising goals.
One name stood out above the rest: Jade Hopkins, who not only smashed her personal target but also raised the most money during the campaign, earning herself a signed Albion shirt from Molumby himself.
Reflecting on her achievement, Jade said: “I saw the Albion Foundation post the challenge Molumby’s Miles, and I was instantly intrigued. He is my favourite player, and I was keen to see how many miles I could achieve within the month. The challenge was on!
I really enjoyed the challenge by adding more miles daily – cycling became my go-to and I began to enjoy it every day.
I motivated myself by trying to achieve as many miles as physically possible and trying to earn the donations, not stopping once I hit my target.
Overall, I loved this challenge and the charity behind it all, and I’d be inclined to do more similar things. It’s made me more active than sitting on the sofa after a day at work.”
Jade’s determination perfectly embodies the spirit of one of The Foundation's core values – Go Above and Beyond - going the extra mile for others while improving her own wellbeing. In total, Jade raised £1,145 and accumulated 350.9 miles, a phenomenal effort that highlights what the challenge aimed to achieve.
It wasn’t just Jade making headlines. The challenge inspired creativity and commitment from participants far and wide. Leading the way in distance was Alfie Giles, who clocked an incredible 409 miles, setting the benchmark for endurance and commitment.
Rich Rushton took Molumby’s Miles international, walking through iconic locations such as Liverpool’s Rainbow & Heart, Manchester’s Trafford Centre, and even the beautiful streets of Bologna. His journey included football landmarks like the San Siro in Milan, where he saw Heggem play for Norway against Italy, and even Dracula’s Tomb in Bucharest before catching Romania v San Marino.
Jamie Crackett brought a unique twist by documenting his progress on TikTok. His highlight? A gruelling 26-mile run connecting Midlands grounds – from Molineux to Bescot, Birmingham City, Villa Park, and finally The Hawthorns. And if that wasn’t enough, Jamie capped off the challenge with a 56-mile run, completing unfinished business from a previous charity effort for Stourbridge FC.
“I coach the Stourbridge U15 girls and they won the league last year, so the challenge was to run to each ground they played at. From Dudley, through Wolverhampton and finishing in Stourbridge. I didn’t quite complete it last time – this time I did. Two challenges completed in one day!
To celebrate these achievements, a limited-edition medal and t-shirt were sent to every Molumby’s Miles participant, with the highest fundraiser – Jade Hopkins – receiving a signed Molumby shirt.
Molumby’s Miles wasn’t just about fitness – it was about community, resilience, and making a difference. Every step, pedal, and stride helped raise vital funds for the Albion Foundation, supporting projects that impact people across the local community.
From Jade’s daily cycling sessions to Rich’s European adventures and Jamie’s marathon efforts, the challenge proved that when Albion fans come together, incredible things happen.
