West Bromwich Albion Powerchair FC is delighted to announce the signing of Zach Dickey, who joins the side for the remainder of the season.

The American standout becomes only the second non‑European international player to represent the Baggies’ Powerchair team in The Wheelchair Football Association (WFA). Zach is only the second non-European international to play for the Baggies' Powerchair team in The WFA , following in the footsteps of Argentine sensation Valentino Zegarelli, who arrived in Birmingham in early 2024 and immediately established himself as an important acquisition. Zegarelli dominated WFA Premier League with 21 goals in his debut season for Albion.

Dickey arrives with a pedigree few in the sport can match. Coming from what many describe as power soccer royalty, Zach is the brother of U.S. greats Jordan and Katie Dickey and brings 16 years of top‑level experience to the Baggies’ squad. His journey across two continents has seen him lift major championships and establish himself as one of the sport’s most respected and dynamic competitors.

Speaking on his move to West Bromwich Albion, Dickey shared the dream that brought him to the Black Country:

“This has been a dream of mine for a long time. I remember playing FIFA — West Brom was one of the only clubs I could choose for MyCareer that I recognised from power soccer. I told myself I’d play for them one day.

Much more importantly, I’m excited to come in and learn the iconic style of play that West Brom has made famous. I’m here to learn from Colin and Chris and hopefully work our way back to the top of the table.”

His career has taken him to the biggest stages in both the United States and Australia, where he has claimed titles with two of the most renowned clubs in the game—Sudden Impact and the Western Sydney Wanderers. Whether in the fast‑paced U.S. Premier divisions or the elite Australian competition, Zach has consistently driven his teams forward with leadership and precision.

A proven promotion specialist, Zach has played central roles in three campaigns to reach the top division in the United States, achieving promotion with Sudden Impact, Atlanta Sting, and Auburn University. His ability to elevate programmes and build winning cultures has become one of his defining strengths.

On the international front, Zach has proudly represented Team USA, where he earned caps, scored the opening goal of the Power Soccer World Cup in Sydney, and helped deliver a bronze medal for his country. His signature headband and commanding on‑court presence have made him one of the sport’s most recognisable and respected figures.

Manager and England international goalkeeper Chris Gordon expressed his delight at securing Dickey’s signature:

“We’re absolutely delighted to bring Zach to the club. He’s a player with proven pedigree at the very highest level and, more importantly, someone who fits the culture and ambition of this squad.

His experience across multiple leagues and international competition will add real value to the group, and we’re excited to see the impact he can make as we push forward this season.”

Off the court, Zach has played a transformative role in expanding the game at the university level. He is the founder of the Auburn University Power Soccer programme, currently the only collegiate power soccer setup in the United States. Through this effort, he has forged a pathway for student‑athletes with disabilities to compete in a structured, competitive environment—leaving a legacy for the sport’s future.

With Zach’s arrival, West Bromwich Albion PFC strengthens its squad with yet another international talent ready to make a major impact. The club looks forward to seeing him don the famous stripes as the season reaches its decisive moments.

Albion Powerchair are back in action this weekend, Saturday, February 21 and Sunday February 22, 2026.
