Johnstone on ‘frustrating’ Fulham performance

Sam Johnstone v Fulham

Sam Johnstone has challenged the Baggies to rebuild momentum after Monday's 2-0 defeat at Fulham.

Two first-half goals from Bobby Decordova-Reid and Ola Aina were enough to prolong Albion’s wait for a Premier League win.

And while Johnstone admits the performance at Craven Cottage was below expectation, the keeper stressed the importance of gaining momentum again.

“We’re very frustrated and it wasn’t good enough,” said Johnstone.

“The last few games we’ve played well, built momentum and we were looking to carry it into this game.

“We didn’t and we’ll be looking to put things right as soon as possible. It’s the Premier League and we knew it was going to be tough.

“Everyone's down and the boss wasn’t happy, we weren’t happy and the fans won’t be so we need to put things right and start building that momentum again.”
