After 18 months in the grip of the Covid pandemic, the game being played out in front of empty stadia, normality returned as Albion kicked off the 2021/22 Championship campaign at The Hawthorns. 

It was a first Hawthorns game for newly installed Head Coach Valérien Ismaël and his side responded by roaring into a three goal lead before enduring a nervy end to things as Luton Town pulled it back to 3-2. 

But this genuinely was one of those occasions where the result was secondary. The fans were back at The Hawthorns.
