Match Report | Wrexham 1-2 Albion

Isaac Price scores against Wrexham

Albion came from behind to earn a fantastic 2-1 win at Wrexham on Tuesday evening.

Although Kieffer Moore’s 65th-minute strike put the Reds ahead, late Isaac Price and Aune Heggebø goals ensured the Baggies left North Wales with three excellent Sky Bet Championship points.

The hosts had the first shot on target when Max O’Leary comfortably held George Dobson’s fourth-minute attempt.

They threatened a few more times, mainly through Moore’s aerial presence. The Wales international twice nodded off-target before forcing Albion’s goalkeeper into a good reflex save moments ahead of the interval.

Albion created their own moments via a few moves and set-pieces, but only really saw efforts by Rabby Nzingoula and Callum Styles blocked as the teams reached half-time goalless.

The Baggies did come out stronger after the break. Isaac Price’s volley was stopped within two minutes of the game restarting, and George Campbell then headed against the crossbar.

However, Wrexham held firm and found the opening goal themselves - Moore unleashing a long-range shot for 1-0 on the 65-minute mark.

James Morrison’s men tried to grab an immediate equaliser, yet Styles’ had one flicked just over and Pereira hit another wide.

Thankfully, the deserved leveller arrived 11 minutes from time. Substitute JJ Morgan’s initial shot was diverted straight to Price, who quickly controlled and fired home.

And the winner soon came courtesy of Heggebø, with the striker coming on and netting a lovely low finish to send Albion back across the border victorious.
