Albion kicked off the new season with a comprehensive 4-1 win against Rotherham United in the Carabao Cup first-round on Saturday.
The Baggies held a strong half-time lead thanks to Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Harry Whitwell, who both grabbed their first efforts in blue and white.
Substitute Felix Horn Myhre and Morgan - again - scored second period goals for Morrison’s men to make it a satisfying evening at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, despite Fabio Tavares’ late consolation.
Eyes now turn to next weekend when Albion begin their Sky Bet Championship campaign against Norwich City.
The visitors - two divisions above their hosts - made a great start in front of their buoyant 2,495 travelling supporters.
It took them only eight minutes to edge ahead as Harry Whitwell fired new-boy Nolan Galves’ towards goal, and Morgan deftly diverted it past Ted Cann.
The relentless Baggies soon doubled their advantage via Whitwell. The academy graduate netted his maiden Albion strike midway through the opening 45, converting a rebound after Morgan’s initial finish was saved.
Despite some Rotherham pressure before and after the interval, Albion held firm - thanks partly to a very smart Max O’Leary stop which denied Paul Mullins.
Morrison brought on Horn Myhre at the break and he wasted no time making his mark, netting just nine minutes into his debut by tucking home from inside the area.
And they didn’t stop there. Morgan converted a back-post header around the hour mark to secure his brace and delight the large, loud away crowd.
Albion couldn’t hang on to a clean sheet, Tavares’ near-post shot pulling United one back during the final stages.
But ultimately the result confirms Albion’s safe passage into the next stage of the competition - with the round two draw taking place on Monday evening.
