Albion drew 1-1 with Queens Park Rangers at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
Callum Styles’ 38th-minute strike grabbed the Baggies a leveller after Rangers had earlier edged ahead through an own-goal - and neither team was able to find a second-half winner.
The result rounds-off an unbeaten week for James Morrison’s men, who have claimed 14 points from their opening seven Sky Bet Championship fixtures.
The Baggies’ home was a picture before kick-off as the club marked its annual Foundation Day with a blue and white stadium-wide mosaic.
But despite it being a high-tempo affair, the action didn’t truly begin until around the half-hour mark when Aune Heggebø poked Toby Collyer’s near-post cross just wide.
QPR then took a surprise lead via their first opportunity. Although Max O’Leary saved Rumarn Burrell’s initial finish, the ball hit the unfortunate Chris Mepham and rolled into the net for 0-1.
However, Albion hit back quickly to level things before the break through Styles. The defender, playing on the right rather than the left, was set up by Felix Horn Myhre to convert a very smart, edge-of-the-box finish and make it 1-1.
Chances came for both sides after the interval. Isaac Price saw a free-kick well saved and Jayson Molumby also nodded narrowly wide, while Max O’Leary had to make a big save to deny QPR’s Kwame Poku inside the area.
Chris Mepham and goalscorer Styles couldn’t beat Pierce Charles with more decent Albion efforts, either. And O’Leary needed to again stop Rangers netting a second, gathering Burrell’s headed attempt.
Morrison turned to his bench and introduced attackers JJ Morgan and Barney Stewart, and his side turned the screw in the final stages.
The elusive goal didn’t arrive, though, leaving the spoils to be shared.
