Albion fought back to grab a battling late point at Derby County on Friday night.
Rams forward Patrick Agyemang put the hosts in-front in the first half, but it took a 95th-minute Chris Mepham strike to secure their share of the Sky Bet Championship spoils at Pride Park.
The visitors could’ve found themselves in the lead after just nine minutes. Mikey Johnston’s searching cutback sought out Jayson Molumby on the edge of the Derby box, though he could only find the gloves of Jacob Widell Zetterström.
Not long after, defender George Campbell, who was restored to the starting XI for Friday’s clash, headed inches wide of the post from Johnston’s corner – the best Albion chance of the first 45’.
But it was the hosts who took the lead on the stroke of half-time, as Agyemang bundled the ball home from a free-kick.
The second half brought more chances in Albion’s favour. Callum Styles stung the gloves of Zetterström and Isaac Price blazed Iling-Junior’s cross over.
Head Coach Eric Ramsay looked to alter the course of proceedings, introducing attackers Josh Maja, Daryl Dike and Jed Wallace.
And the former almost evened up the scores with moments to go in the tie, striking agonisingly wide from a set-piece.
Though the Baggies wouldn’t have to wait long after for their equaliser, despite it being five minutes deep into added time - as substitute defender Mepham prodded just over the line – ensuring a pivotal point in the East Midlands.
