U18 Premier League Cup Report | Albion 1-0 Blackburn Rovers

Albion Under-18s progressed to the quarter-finals of the Premier League Cup after beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at The Fitlife Foods Performance Centre.

A solid first-half display saw Chay Thompson's men dominate proceedings, creating numerous chances in the early exchanges and taking advantage of one of them too - Ryan Colesby converting on 36 minutes to reward the hosts' control.

It could've been even better at the interval, however, Remar McNeil was unable to convert from the spot when the young Baggies were awarded a penalty.

Opportunities continued to come and go for the home team, meaning their Lancashire counterparts grew into the game after the restart - controlling the play in search of a late equaliser.

Luckily, a resolute Albion defence stood strong to hold out a narrow triumph, steal the spoils to top Group F on six points (ahead of Fulham in second place on goal difference), and book their place in the last eight of the U18 PL Cup.

Albion: Moses, Maughan (c), Perkins, Abudu, Shaw, Letlat (Round 59), Blackshields, Colesby, French (Bastafield 59), McNeil (Seven-Seven 76), Okorodudu (Iqbal 90+2).
