Albion Under-18s kicked off their Premier League Cup group campaign with an impressive 4-2 victory over Norwich City on Tuesday afternoon at the Avant Training Centre.
First-year scholar Archie Williams stole the show during the tie, netting four first-half goals to put Chay Thompson's men in a comfortable position at the break.
The striker began his scoring spree by converting from the penalty spot after three minutes, before adding a further three from open play - including an audacious 35-yard lob to round off a stunning individual display in East Anglia.
The young Baggies held onto their lead for much of the second half as the hosts plotted a response.
Their resolve was halted, though, as City forced a breakthrough when Ollie Roberson scored after 71 minutes, with Reece Wilkes netting a second Canaries goal in the first minute of stoppage time.
However, Albion's first-half performance proved too strong to overcome as they added three points to their Group H tally.
