Albion Under-18s won their first U18 Premier League South match of the season against Norwich City on Saturday.
The young Baggies produced a performance full of togetherness to down the Canaries, and found a lead in the game early on.
James Bythell touched the ball down, picking out an excellent through pass to find Alfie Round on the run; he latched onto it and slid past the onrushing home goalkeeper to give Chay Thompson’s side an advantage within the first four minutes.
And they continued a promising attacking showing when Danyal Iqbal came crashing into the box to bury Harry French’s cross beyond the Norwich ‘keeper to double their lead.
Albion produced a resolute defensive showing to ensure they kept hold of their lead in Norfolk, and could’ve even scored again as French looked to latch onto Frazer Billings’ cross, but struggled to get a clean connection to steer into the net.
But Thompson’s team won’t mind, as they picked up a well-earned clean sheet and their first three points of the league season.
