Albion's Under-18s were denied a hard-earned point in stoppage time after Crystal Palace netted a late winner on Saturday afternoon.

Reyes Cleary added to his tally in the first 20 minutes to give the young Baggies the initiative.

But their lead was overturned before the break when Victor Akinwale netted a brace in the space of 17 minutes, turning the game completely in Palace's favour.

The Eagles held their advantage for much of the second half, but they couldn't keep in-form Albion forward Cleary at bay as the youngster levelled the contest in the final 13 minutes of normal time.

Although Cleary's effort looked to have given Peter Gilbert's side a share of the points as the game entered stoppage time, the youngsters couldn't prevent Joseph Ling from netting a late winner as Palace sealed all three points.

Albion: Hollingshead; Phillips, Machisa, Chidi; Williams, Oluwatobi (Higgins 58), Heard, Humphries; Lamb, Cleary, Love.

Substitutes: Hudd, Oliver, Hurlock.
