Goalkeeper Matt Ingram says he’s “delighted” to become a Baggie after signing for the club in a permanent transfer from Oxford United.

The 32-year-old, who joins on a two-year deal, makes the switch to the Midlands after notching over 300 appearances across the English football pyramid.

And he was impressed by the club's aims for the year ahead when joining-up the day before pre-season starts.

He said: “I’m really delighted to be here. It’s a massive club with big ambition.

“I know last year wasn’t the season anyone expected, but for me growing up, this was a Premier League club and it’s an offer too good to turn down.

“The interest came about really quickly, only about four or five days ago. Here I am now and ready to get started - you can see how quickly these things materialise and how desperate I was to get through the door.

“I’ve had a lot of contact with Boaz Myhill, who has been great. He’s walked me through the building, shown me around and introduced me to everyone.

“The facilities are great and the pitches look in perfect shape, so I can’t wait to get going.

“I want to push the group. I’ve been in and around the level now for several years. I just want to help the group in tough times; it’s really important in this league.

“I want to keep a level head and help the team through every experience. I’m really looking forward to it and I can’t wait to start working with the lads.”
