West Bromwich Albion welcome Watford to The Hawthorns on Easter Monday in the Sky Bet Championship (ko 3pm).

The Baggies made it seven matches unbeaten down at The Den on Good Friday, coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Millwall.

Visitors Watford held title-chasing Leeds United to a 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road.

The two sides couldn't be separated in the reverse fixture at the home of the Hornets in September, producing an entertaining 2-2 draw in awful rain.

The opponents

Watford will be disappointed with how the 2023/24 season has played out and will be hoping for a much more successful 2024/25 campaign in the second tier.

The Hornets would've been targeting a spot in the top six, but Monday's visitors have struggled to find consistent runs of positive results and find themselves 15 points adrift of the play-off places heading into the final seven fixtures of the term.

Former Baggies boss Valerien Ismael had held the position of manager from the start of the season up until a few weeks ago. He departed on March 9, with Tom Cleverley, a man who represented Watford over 150 times as a player, handed the reigns for the closing stages.

He's beaten Birmingham City away from home and drawn with high-flying Leeds United at Vicarage Road in his first two games, picking up as many points in those two encounters as Ismael did in his final eight matches in charge.

Monday's guests will be on the hunt for a third win in four on their travels, with each of their last three road trips ending in 1-0 scorelines (W2, L1).

One to remember

The Baggies hit five unanswered goals past Watford in October 2009.

Jonas Olsson and Graham Dorrans efforts had the hosts 2-0 up at the break.

Luke Moore added a third, Gianni Zuiverloon made it four and Simon Cox fired in a fifth on an afternoon to remember in the second tier.
