West Bromwich Albion take on Southampton in the Sky Bet Championship under the lights at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night (ko 8pm).

The Baggies were victorious at West Ham United on Saturday, claiming a 3-1 triumph in the capital city. It means they head into Tuesday's tussle having collected ten points from the last 12 on offer.

Visitors Southampton also picked up a big win at the weekend. Tonda Eckert's men cruised to a 4-1 success at home to QPR, their fourth victory in their last five.

Albion, sat fourth in the standings, are one point and one place above the Saints after 13 second-tier fixtures.

The visitors

Southampton will arrive in the West Midlands in a rich vein of form having secured 13 points from the last 15 available.

The Saints, who finished inside the play-off positions in 2025/26, have recorded wins over Portsmouth, Norwich City, West Ham and QPR, as well as a draw against Bolton Wanderers in recent weeks.

And while they've been dominant at home, winning six of their seven in the league at St Mary's, it's been more of a mixed bag on the road this season, with two wins, two draws and two defeats on the record.

However, those two wins came in their last two on the road - games against Norwich and West Ham in October - so Tonda Eckert's side certainly have momentum heading into Tuesday night.

After a career in academy football and stints as an assistant manager at Barnsley and Genoa, Eckert has now cemented himself as a senior head coach and boasts one of the most successful points-per-game records in the EFL.

Since taking the top job permanently in December 2025, the German has overseen 50 fixtures, winning 30, drawing 12 and losing just eight, earning a PPG of 2.04 in all competitions.

His impressive record has Southampton already firmly sat in the play-off spots despite being dealt a four-point deduction ahead of the campaign.

Classic clash

Albion's last home win against Southampton was a 3-0 triumph in the Premier League in April 2021.

Matheus Pereira's penalty and Matty Phillips' close-range effort had the hosts 2-0 up at the break. Callum Robinson then added a third in the second period to seal an eye-catching result at The Hawthorns.

Check out the highlights below.

Did you know...?

Albion will be hoping to end Southampton's six-match unbeaten streak in this fixture on Tuesday. The Saints have won four and drawn two of those six. The Baggies' last victory against the side from the south coast was the 3-0 triumph in the Premier League at The Hawthorns in April 2021.

The away side has been victorious in just one of the last eight head-to-head matches - a 2-0 win for Southampton at The Hawthorns in February 2024.

James Morrison will be going up against Southampton for the tenth time in his football career having faced them eight times as a player and once as a boss. He's won three, drawn two and lost four of the previous nine.

The last time Southampton failed to scored on their travels in a regular Sky Bet Championship match was back on January 4, 2026 when they were heavily beaten 4-0 by Middlesbrough. It's the only away league game in which they've not managed to hit the back of the net since the start of the 2025/26 term. They head to The Hawthorns having notched in 15 consecutive regular second-tier away ties.

The Baggies have lost just one of their last 13 home games in all competitions (W5, D7).

For the fans

Albion are excited to welcome supporters back to The Hawthorns on Tuesday night.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy before, during and after the encounter with the Saints (ko 8pm). Here's everything you need to know ahead of your visit.

Fan Zone

There will be no Fan Zone or post-match bar on Tuesday night.

Family Stand activities

The activities will continue inside The Hawthorns, with two dedicated coves in the West Stand concourse featuring a Pac-Man arcade reaction game and a buzz wire for supporters to enjoy before kick-off and during the interval.

Refreshments outside The Hawthorns

Despite the Fan Zone being closed, the food and drink offering will extend beyond the stadium, with three additional concession units located around the exterior of The Hawthorns.

Supporters can find the units outside the East Stand, and the home and away sections of the Smethwick End.

A selection of matchday classics, including burgers and hot dogs, will be served outside the Smethwick End and outside the East Stand.

New matchday specials at The Hawthorns

Albion are delighted to introduce a brand-new range of matchday specials, available for supporters to enjoy throughout the 2026/27 season at The Hawthorns.

As part of the club’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the supporter experience, the Baggies' in-house catering team has developed a series of upgraded food offerings designed to bring even more flavour to matchdays in B71.

Following the summer success of winning gold for Overall Matchday Hospitality Experience at the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards, the team is continuing to focus on delivering improvements across both the club’s hospitality areas and the general concourse experience.

The specials will run for two to three home fixtures at a time, rotating throughout the season to give supporters a wider variety of options alongside the usual matchday favourites.

Supporters in the East Stand, Birmingham Road End and West Stand will be able to purchase the new crispy chicken wrap on Tuesday. In addition to the rotating specials, a new ‘Panjabi Grill’ chicken tikka & fries will be available throughout the season across all four stands, bringing authentic Punjabi flavours to matchdays at The Hawthorns. The pizza special of the day will be a meat feast.

Both the matchday specials and the chicken tikka & fries will be priced at £8.50 and available to purchase from the moment turnstiles open. Supporters are encouraged to arrive early, as only a limited number of specials will be prepared for each fixture. Further dishes will be revealed across the course of the campaign, giving supporters even more to look forward to on every visit to The Hawthorns.

Hawthorns helpers

Look out for our Hawthorns Helpers around the ground on Saturday.

Wearing their bright pink uniforms and carrying 'Here to Help' flags, the team will be positioned at key points around the stadium to assist with directions, answer questions and help supporters throughout their matchday journey.

Post-match entertainment

There will be no post-match bar on Tuesday night.

Additional information

Young Baggies can now select a free piece of fruit across all stands at The Hawthorns, extending the initiative beyond the Family Stand for the rest of the season.

The club has also built two new refreshment kiosks in the Birmingham Road stand concourse, with the primary aim of providing fans with increased access to draught beer, soft drinks and hot beverages and easing congestion in the central area.

Phone charging stations provided by FUZE will continue to be in place around The Hawthorns. Supporters can take advantage of free charging using the code 'CHARGEUP2026'. The code can be used by anyone at checkout and is available on a one-per-person basis.

Sensory packs and ear defenders will also be available to purchase from the club shop, helping those who may benefit from additional sensory support to feel more comfortable throughout their matchday. Simply speak to a member of the club shop team to request one.

Andy Gulch will be our Stadium DJ, working behind the scenes to bring our matchday music to life and build the atmosphere across The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion are proud to continue to offer free sanitary products for women across all toilets within the concourse.

Tuesday night's game will also involve an early acknowledgement of Diwali, which falls on Sunday, November 8.

Half-time - celebrating our powerchair players

We would like to congratulate members of the West Bromwich Albion Powerchair Football Club on their outstanding achievements at the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Argentina.

Chris Gordon and Marcus Harrison helped England reach the World Cup Final, finishing as silver medallists, while Bryan Weiss became a World Champion with France following a hard-fought extra-time victory. Colin Gordon, Chris' father, also coached Argentina to a fourth-place finish on home soil.

Chris's performances were recognised with the Defensive Player of the Tournament award, while Chris, Bryan and Colin were all named in the official Team of the Tournament. Congratulations to all four on representing their nations and Albion with distinction on the world stage.
