Three WBA players celebrate a goal in the home kit at The Hawthorns

Have a quick scroll through some of the most interesting pre-match stats ahead of Albion's clash with Southampton in the Sky Bet Championship at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night (ko 8pm)...

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Albion will be hoping to end Southampton's six-match unbeaten streak in this fixture on Tuesday. The Saints have won four and drawn two of those six. The Baggies' last victory against the side from the south coast was the 3-0 triumph in the Premier League at The Hawthorns in April 2021.

The away side has been victorious in just one of the last eight head-to-head matches - a 2-0 win for Southampton at The Hawthorns in February 2024.

Combined, Albion and Southampton have collected 20 points from the last 24 on offer - three wins and one draw each.

James Morrison will be going up against Southampton for the tenth time in his football career having faced them eight times as a player and once as a boss. He's won three, drawn two and lost four of the previous nine.

Tuesday's tie will be the 88th between Albion and Southampton. The Saints have the better head-to-head record, winning 36 games compared to the Baggies' 25 triumphs. There have also been 26 draws.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The Baggies have lost just one of their last 13 home games in all competitions (W5, D7).

Albion have the chance to go five matches unbeaten for the first time since a run of 10 between March and April earlier this year.

Saturday's win at West Ham United means James Morrison has now picked up 46 points from the 27 Sky Bet Championship matches he's taken charge of, with an average of 1.70 points won per game.

Defender Callum Styles has now scored three goals in his last ten appearances - as many as he managed in his first 87 matches for the club.

SOUTHAMPTON

Tuesday's guests are unbeaten in five (W4, D1). The last time they went six unbeaten was during a run of 20 fixtures between January and April earlier this year.

The Saints have the opportunity to win three successive away games for the first time since a run of four between March and May earlier this year. Tuesday's visitors have picked up recent triumphs at Norwich City (1-0) and West Ham United (3-2).

The last time Southampton failed to scored on their travels in a regular Sky Bet Championship match was back on January 4, 2026 when they were heavily beaten 4-0 by Middlesbrough. It's the only away league game in which they've not managed to hit the back of the net since the start of the 2025/26 term. They head to The Hawthorns having notched in 15 consecutive regular second-tier away ties.

Tonda Eckert's team have conceded just 13 goals in the Championship so far, which is the joint-fewest in the division alongside Birmingham City and Swansea City.
