Have a read through some of the most interesting pre-match stats ahead of West Bromwich Albion's Sky Bet Championship encounter with West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon (ko 3pm)...
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Albion and West Ham will meet for the first time in more than five-and-a-half years on Saturday afternoon. The Hammers were victorious in the last head-to-head match, winning 3-1 at The Hawthorns in a Premier League clash in May 2021. The Baggies' last visit to the London Stadium was in January 2021 - a 2-1 defeat in the top flight.
The side from the capital city have the chance to extend their unbeaten league run at home against Albion to 11 games this weekend (W4, D6). The Baggies' last league win at West Ham was back in November 2003 when they came back from 3-0 down to win 4-3 at Upton Park in Division One. The last ten league visits to the Hammers have all been in the Premier League. Albion did, however, beat Saturday's hosts 1-0 at the London Stadium in the Emirates FA Cup in January 2020.
Both teams have scored in all of the last eight league fixtures played in London between the two, with a total of 28 goals scored in those eight games.
West Bromwich Albion boss James Morrison scored twice against West Ham in his playing days, with both coming at The Hawthorns (3-2 Premier League win in September 2008 and 4-0 FA Cup win in February 2015).
The two teams have an identical head-to-head record, both winning 41 matches against the other. There have also been 25 draws. This weekend's contest will be the 108th meeting between the two clubs.
WEST HAM UNITED
The Hammers are the highest scorers in the whole of the EFL. They've bagged 32 goals in their opening dozen league games, with 12 different players getting on the scoresheet.
West Ham have scored in all 15 games they've played in so far this season (12 in the Championship and three in the Carabao Cup). They've hit the back of the net in 17 straight matches and last failed to score when they were beaten 1-0 at home by Premier League champions Arsenal on May 10, 2026.
The Londoners are without a win in their last three home games in all competitions following 3-2 defeats to Fulham and Southampton and a 1-1 draw with QPR. They had won three in-a-row prior to the Fulham fixture in the Carabao Cup back in the middle of September, scoring 13 in the process against Wolves, Derby County and then Wrexham.
Saturday's hosts are playing in the Championship for the first time since the 2011/12 term. West Ham have been promoted to the top flight of English football in four of the last five seasons when competing in the second tier (1990/91, 1992/93, 2004/05 and 2011/12).
WEST BROMWICH ALBION
The Baggies will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches this weekend. James Morrison's team have two wins and one draw from their last three.
Albion have lost just five of their last 25 matches in all competitions and have suffered just four defeats in their last 23 Championship fixtures.
The 1-1 draw at Preston North End last Saturday was Albion's first draw in ten away fixtures in all competitions. The Baggies haven't drawn back-to-back away league matches since a run of three between February and March in 2025 (Millwall, Leeds United and Burnley - all 1-1 scorelines).
James Morrison's outfit have played six away games in the second tier so far this season. There's been just one goal scored in the first 45 minutes of those six encounters - Aune Heggebø's effort at Derby County in September. The other five fixtures have all been goalless at the break.
