Jayson Molumby in action for Albion in the home kit

Check out some of the pre-match stats ahead of Albion's Sky Bet Championship battle with Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon (ko 3pm)...

HEAD-TO-HEAD

There have been just three goals scored in the last four meetings between West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers, with two of those four ending goalless.

Albion have lost just one of their last eight home matches against Blackburn - a 0-2 reverse in February 2025. The Baggies have won four and drawn three of the other seven.

James Morrison will be coming up against his former boss Tony Mowbray for the first time as a head coach. Mowbray brought Morrison to the club in the summer of 2007, with the Scot featuring 73 times in navy-blue-and-white stripes for the now Blackburn gaffer.

Tony Mowbray is facing West Bromwich Albion for the tenth time in his managerial career. He's won two, drawn three and lost four of the previous nine.

The two teams are going head-to-head for the 140th time this weekend. Blackburn boast the better record, winning 56 games to Albion's 48. There have also been 35 draws.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The Baggies will have their sights set on securing back-to-back Championship victories for the third time already this season. Morrison's team beat Norwich City and then Burnley in August, as well as Watford and Derby County in September.

Albion have conceded just four goals in their last eight home games.

Only leaders Swansea City (7) and high-flying QPR (9) have conceded fewer Championship goals this season than Saturday's hosts (10).

The Baggies suffered their first home defeat since February 21 last weekend against Birmingham. They've not been beaten in front of their own supporters in consecutive matches since January 2026 (Middlesbrough and Norwich).

BLACKBURN ROVERS

Blackburn have the chance to win three games in-a-row for the first time since a run of three between October and November in 2025. They head into the encounter on the back of triumphs over Cardiff City and Bristol City.

Rovers' win at Bristol City in midweek was their first away league win of the 2026/27 campaign. They have the opportunity to secure back-to-back away triumphs in the second tier for the first time since a run of two between March and April earlier this calendar year when they beat both Millwall and Birmingham City.

There have been at least three goals scored in 10 of Blackburn's 12 games in all competitions this season.

Only Taïryk Arconte of Millwall (12) has been caught offside more times in the second tier this term than Rovers' Todd Cantwell (11) heading into the latest round of fixtures.
