West Bromwich Albion have an opportunity to record back-to-back victories in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon when they host Blackburn Rovers (ko 3pm).
The Baggies responded positively to two straight setbacks by coming from behind to beat Wrexham at The Racecourse Ground on Tuesday night, with Isaac Price and Aune Heggebø both on target inside the final 11 minutes.
Visitors Blackburn, managed by former Albion boss Tony Mowbray, also won in midweek. They claimed a 1-0 triumph at Bristol City on the same night James Morrison's men were victorious in North Wales. Oladapo Afolayan scored the only goal at Ashton Gate, a strike which moved Rovers onto 15 points from their first 10 matches.
The two fixtures between the two clubs in 2025/26 were tight, with the Baggies claiming a 1-0 success at home on the opening day before securing a goalless draw at Ewood Park in early April.

The visitors
Blackburn Rovers have made a really promising start to the 2026/27 season and head to The Hawthorns sat comfortably in the top half of the division after the first ten Championship fixtures.
Rovers, who, like Albion, were locked into a relegation battle in the second half of the previous term, have already collected 15 points having won four and drawn three of their second-tier encounters.
They'll arrive in the West Midlands on a four-match unbeaten run. Saturday's guests have taken 10 points from the 12 on offer during that time, recording triumphs against Millwall, Cardiff City and Bristol City most recently on Tuesday night, as well as earning a draw down at Portsmouth.
The Lancashire outfit, now into their ninth consecutive campaign in the Championship, have also picked up impressive results against Wolves (2-2 away from home) and Middlesbrough (2-1 win at Ewood Park) so far this year.
They are managed by a man Albion fans know extremely well - Tony Mowbray. The 62-year-old was reappointed Blackburn boss in the summer after spending more than five years at the club in the same position between 2017 and 2022.
Mowbray has also had two spells in charge of West Bromwich Albion. He helped guide the club to the Championship title in 2007/08 and returned in January 2025 before leaving towards the end of that season.

Classic clash
Albion defeated Rovers 3-2 at The Hawthorns in a Championship fixture in August 2019.
Bradley Dack gave the visitors an extremely early advantage, but efforts from Matt Phillips, Jake Livermore and Grady Diangana had the Baggies in control heading into the closing stages of the first 45.
Rovers pulled one back on the stroke of half-time through Bradley Johnson, but Slaven Bilic's team held on to pick up all three points.

Did you know...?
Albion have lost just one of their last eight home matches against Blackburn - a 0-2 reverse in February 2025. The Baggies have won four and drawn three of the other seven.
There have been just three goals scored in the last four meetings between West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers, with two of those four ending goalless.
James Morrison will be coming up against his former boss Tony Mowbray for the first time as a head coach. Mowbray brought Morrison to the club in the summer of 2007, with the Scot featuring 73 times in navy-blue-and-white stripes for the now Blackburn gaffer.
The Baggies will have their sights set on securing back-to-back Championship victories for the third time already this season. Morrison's team beat Norwich City and then Burnley in August, as well as Watford and Derby County in September.
Blackburn have the chance to win three games in-a-row for the first time since a run of three between October and November in 2025. They head into the encounter on the back of triumphs over Cardiff City and Bristol City.
