James Morrison says Albion are “focused, positive and pushing each other” to be the best versions of themselves.

Morrison’s men, who have produced much-improved performances in their last two games against Sheffield United and Southampton, take on promotion-chasing Hull City at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon (ko 3pm).

The Tigers arrive boasting the division’s second-best away record and have picked up six victories in their last seven fixtures on their travels.

The Baggies interim head coach acknowledged his outfit are in for another stern test this weekend when speaking to members of the media on Friday at The Fitlife Foods Performance, but also stated how he believes they’re heading in the “right direction”.

He said: “We need to perform on a consistent basis from now until the end of the season. We’re all working towards the same objective and we’re together on that. We know what we have to do and we’re heading in the right direction.

“We’re trying to give ourselves the best chance in games. We’re in games, but we just need to tinker with small details to make sure we’re maximising situations.

“As I said after the Southampton game, there were small details that could’ve helped prevent their equaliser such as not throwing into the box, stopping the cross and not being as deep in our penalty area.

“We’ve had two good displays in the last two games and we’ve picked up two points against teams who were in really good form. We’re up against another team on Saturday who are performing well right now.

“Hull are a very good side and they’re playing really well away from home and picking up plenty of victories. They’re quite unpredictable in terms of their approach – sometimes they’ll go with a back four and other times they’ll go with a five.

“They can use different players and they’ve got a good striker in Oli McBurnie. He’s a threat and a focal point in their team. There are plenty of things that we have to be aware of, but it’s our home game and we’ll be doing all we can to make sure we get three points.

“We’ve got to keep working and fighting. We’re focused, we’re positive and we’re pushing each other to be the best we possibly can be in these remaining fixtures.”
