Professional DJ Andy Gulch will cycle from Birmingham to Ibiza, a 40-day gruelling challenge to raise money for The Albion Foundation and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Boyhood West Bromwich Albion supporter Gulch will ride a customised bike, equipped with his own DJ decks, and will play his favourite songs all the way to the party destination.
The challenge, which begins on July 10, is set to be one of the longest challenges in aid of the Foundation – and Gulch is excited for it.
“I’ve always been into cycling, I’m a DJ by trade, so we thought to combine the two and cycle to the party destination of the world in Ibiza. I’ll be honest when I booked the accommodation that’s when I realised how many stops and just how many days there are.
“It means a lot, I like to raise money for charity. The Foundation do a lot of great work within the community, so if I was going to do it, I was going to do it for the challenge – but also while raising money for a great cause.
“There’ll be a few songs repeated, but I think I’ve got enough songs. It’ll give me the chance to play some that I don’t normally play too.”

Events and Partnerships Coordinator Steve Meeson has organised several heroic Cycle Challenges during his time at the Foundation, and is incredibly grateful for Andy’s efforts.
“We’ve done some crazy cycle challenges at The Albion Foundation over the years,” Meeson said. None have been as crazy as the one Andy’s attempting to do now.
“We think Andy’s mad for doing this, but here at the Foundation, we’re incredibly grateful that you’ve chosen us to support, through your endeavours – cycling to Ibiza.”
