Four members of WBA Powerchair FC are proudly representing both club and country at the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Buenos Aires. Chris Gordon and Marcus Harrison have helped England reach the semi-finals with a perfect record, while Bryan Weiss is competing for defending champions France and coach Colin Gordon has guided host nation Argentina into the last four.

England have enjoyed a flawless group-stage campaign, winning all nine of their matches to book a place in the World Cup semi-finals.

At the heart of that success has been Albion goalkeeper Chris Gordon. The England number one started seven of the team's nine fixtures, helping his side keep six clean sheets and concede just once throughout his appearances. England's defensive strength has provided the platform for an impressive run to the last four and another shot at world glory.

Fellow Albion player Marcus Harrison has also enjoyed a standout tournament. Harrison has scored five goals so far, opening his account in England's 3-0 victory over Australia before adding braces against both Uruguay and Italy. His goals have helped England maintain their perfect record and underline the quality within the squad.

While Gordon and Harrison have been helping England progress, Bryan Weiss has once again represented France on the world stage as the defending champions continue their campaign in Argentina. France have also reached the semi-finals and will take on the USA for a place in Friday's World Cup final, meaning all four Albion representatives remain firmly in contention at the business end of the tournament.

The semi-finals now present a unique story for the Albion family, with England set to face tournament hosts Argentina for a place in Friday's final.

That fixture will see Chris Gordon come up against an Argentina side coached by his father, Colin Gordon, setting up a special father-versus-son battle on one of the biggest stages in world powerchair football. Colin previously guided England to the final of the 2023 World Cup before taking on his current role with Argentina, helping the hosts reach the knockout stages on home soil.

England claimed a 3-1 win when the two nations met during the group stage, but with a place in the World Cup final at stake, there will be plenty on the line when they meet again.

Having four representatives involved at the highest level of the game is a fantastic achievement for WBA Powerchair FC and a reflection of the talent and dedication within the club. Whether it's Gordon producing crucial saves, Harrison finding the net, Weiss competing for France or Colin leading Argentina from the touchline, the Albion family continues to make an impact on the global stage.

All eyes now turn to the semi-finals, where international ambition, club pride and family bragging rights will all be on the line as England face Argentina and France take on the USA for a place in the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup final.

Supporters can watch England's World Cup semi-final against Argentina live from 6:30pm (BST) on Thursday, October 22. The match will be streamed on YouTube via the official 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup channel.
