Albion Foundation announce partnership with Author, Dan Freedman.

Dan Freedman Partnership 2

The Albion Foundation are proud to announce a new partnership with Author, Dan Freedman.

The Albion Foundation will be working with Dan to provide a reading & writing programme for targeted groups in schools themed around Dan’s books “Unstoppable” and the “Jamie Johnson” series. There will be schemes of work and one-off events available as part of our primary school offer.

“I’m so proud to be working with the Albion Foundation and supporting all the wonderful work they do in schools”, Dan Freedman explained.

“When I was at school, I sometimes struggled with different subjects including reading and writing but if football was ever brought into the conversation I was all ears! So I hope that by combining the inspirational power of the Albion Foundation with the football-themed novels that I write, we can encourage thousands of kids to achieve their goals.”

Rich Holmes, School Partnerships Manager added, “We’re really excited to be working with Dan to add value to our existing WBA One Offer and Premier League Primary Stars programmes with partner primary schools. Dan is a fantastic author, and has amazing stories to tell about his journey, which will help us to inspire children who are less engaged or reluctant readers to discover the love of reading and writing through the power of football.”

“We will be launching an English programme based around one of Dan’s books, working closely with Dan to support our English interventions and Activation days and will have the opportunity for schools to experience an author day with a best-selling author to inspire young readers.”

Dan is an author, best known for creating and writing the bestselling Jamie Johnson series about a young footballer aiming to be the greatest player in the world. The novels have been adapted for TV by the BBC. The Emmy and Bafta-nominated drama is broadcast all over the world. When he is not writing, Dan makes visits to schools and Premier League academies to share his experiences and encourage young people to go for their goals. He has now made more than 2000 school visits and he cites these experiences as the inspiration behind his books.

Dan is an ambassador for Premier League Primary Stars, The Youth Sport Trust and Power2, a youth charity which unleashes the potential of young people.
