Albion suffered a 3-2 defeat to Middlesbrough in Eric Ramsay’s first match as Baggies boss on Friday night.
An own-goal put Boro one-up at the interval, and Sam Silvera’s low second-half finish looked to have given them the points.
Isaac Price and substitute Jed Wallace did haul Albion level at The Hawthorns, however the visitors stole the spoils late through Delano Burgzorg.
The hosts had the first opportunity inside three minutes when Aune Heggebø dispossessed Luke Ayling, only for his attempt to be smothered by Sol Brynn. Chris Mepham soon side-footed over, too, after Callum Styles’ deep corner reached him.
Middlesbrough grew and began creating chances of their own - with Aidan Morris firing off-target and Morgan Whittaker’s curler being comfortably saved.
Karlan Grant and Tommy Conway exchanged efforts at both ends, yet neither could beat the opposing goalkeeper.
Three minutes before the break, though, Boro edged ahead. Alex Gilbert’s initial shot struck the post and came back out, hitting the unfortunate Charlie Taylor and going in.
Following the break, Heggebø quickly saw another strike saved - yet frustratingly it was Middlesbrough who netted next via Silvera. The winger hit a powerful, low finish into the bottom corner, giving Albion an uphill task.
Ramsay introduced Wallace and Josh Maja to try and turn things around, but Price was the man to halve the deficit, hammering home a free-kick from just outside the area.
Wallace then scored a superb goal to complete the turnaround and bring the Baggies level.
In stoppage-time Boro regained their composure and snatched a winner to break Albion hearts, courtesy of Burgzorg - snatching them all three Sky Bet Championship points.
