This July, a brave team from The Albion Foundation will take on one of the toughest endurance challenges in the UK - kayaking the English Channel - all to raise vital funds that help transform lives across our communities.

The group will paddle across one of the busiest and most demanding stretches of water in the world, battling unpredictable tides, strong currents, and the physical challenge of hours of continuous kayaking. Departing from Dungeness on the English coast, and reaching Boulogne of Northern France, the team will kayak for 18 nautical miles (over 33km), demanding resilience, teamwork and determination from everyone involved.

But this challenge is about far more than the distance.

Every mile this brave team kayak, and every pound donated in support, will help raise crucial funds to support The Albion Foundation's life-changing work across Sandwell. We use the power of sport and community engagement to inspire positive change. From providing safe spaces for young people to grow and develop, to disability sport sessions, the Foundation reaches thousands of participants every year. Challenges such as this one plays a fundamental role in ensuring these programmes can continue to reach the people who need them most.

The team will spend months preparing, both physically and mentally, for the crossing, training together and building the endurance required for this huge feat. When the time comes in July, they'll be relying on determination, teamwork and the support of the Albion Community to help carry them across the finish line.

Supporters will be able to follow the team's journey and support their efforts by donating, helping turn every paddle stroke into meaningful impact for the communities the Foundation serves.
