Women’s U18 Report | Albion 3-1 Rugby Borough

Albion U18s celebrating against Rugby Borough.

Albion Women Under-18s came from a goal down to maintain their 100 per cent winning record in the JPL Warrior League against Rugby Borough on Saturday.

The young Baggies went behind thanks to a visiting penalty in the first half, but soon turned the match around through Lakeema Robinson’s equaliser.

Larna Downie, who featured in the matchday squad for the club’s senior team the weekend prior, then put the hosts ahead with an astounding long-range strike.

Then Jaida Gilling-Campbell secured the Jodie Williams’ side’s third before half-time, as she chipped the goalkeeper from a tight angle.

And aside from Chi Arinze’s strike, which forced an excellent save from the opposition shot-stopper, the Baggies couldn’t alter the scoreline any further, securing their third league victory in-a-row.

Albion squad: Jew, Cooke, Hill, Taylor, Harlin, Downie, Davis, Heeley, Fisher, Gilling-Campbell, Evans, Probert, Jones, Robinson, Arinze, Taylor-Santos.
