Albion Women Manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still described her side’s FA WNL Cup victory over Leafield Athletic as “excellent”.
The Baggies ran out 2-0 winners at the Alexander Stadium, ensuring they clinched the top spot in Group N and safe passage to the knockout stage.
Goals from Phoebe Warner and Simran Jhamat were the difference, with Hodgetts-Still praising a fantastic first-half performance in particular.
The boss did, however, stress the need to maintain standards and continue searching for more goals towards the latter stages.

She said: “We’re really happy we got the win today and finished top of our group.
“I thought it was a game of two halves for us really. I thought we were excellent in the first 45. I thought Leafield made it difficult sitting in a block, but I thought we still managed to move the ball well. There was purpose and great ball speed. We scored two really good goals.
“In the second half I thought we took the took our foot off the gas really and definitely as the game grew and spaces opened up, we could’ve been better in possession and added more goals.
“Leafield came out and changed the way they pressed us a little bit. We have to adapt to that situation and raise our standards of performance.”

Captain Hannah George agreed and believes her team can make plenty of improvements.
“I thought we went out to do a job and we did that today,” George said. “Was it our best performance? I think we could have done a lot better in some areas.
“I think we tried different things, and we tried to break them down. In the first half, they reset really well, and we got our first two goals in the first half.
“Second half they came out and pressed us a bit more and they had to go for it. We dealt with it and we stuck it out.
“We’re super proud to have won the group. We had three really tough games but we’ve managed them well and we’re through to the next stage.
“Our attention will now turn back to the league and we want to carry on our good form.”
The Baggies are back in action when they head to Mickleover to face Derby County next Sunday, October 5 (2pm).
