West Bromwich Albion take on Preston North End at Deepdale in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon (ko 3pm).
The Baggies head to Lancashire on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run. James Morrison's side extended that succession of results with a hard-fought 0-0 draw at home to automatic-promotion hopefuls Millwall last Friday night.
Hosts Preston are on an unbeaten streak of their own, having won two and drawn two of their last four. A 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic saw them return to winning ways last time out as Lewis Dobbin and Brad Potts completed the turnaround after Joe Rankin-Costello had put the Addicks ahead.
Albion were 2-1 winners when North End visited The Hawthorns earlier this season. Super strikes from Mikey Johnston and Isaac Price put the home outfit in a commanding position before Michael Smith pulled one back 12 minutes from time. Watch the highlights below.

The opposition
Preston North End enjoyed a brilliant first half of the 2025/26 Sky Bet Championship campaign and were sat inside the top six at Christmas, but, unfortunately for Saturday's hosts, they haven't managed to maintain the same level of momentum in 2026.
The Lilywhites have dropped away from the play-off positions and head into this weekend's encounter with the Albion sat in 13th place on 57 points, winning 14, drawing 15 and losing 13 of their 42 second-tier fixtures.
Preston's incredibly balanced campaign is also equally split between their home and away records. On the road, they've won six, drawn eight and lost seven, but at Deepdale, their record stands at eight wins, seven draws and six losses.
They lost four consecutive matches against Millwall, Oxford United, Coventry City and Norwich City before embarking on a four-game unbeaten run. North End picked up single points in encounters with Leicester City and QPR either side of victories over Stoke City at home and Charlton Athletic away, respectively.
Saturday's showdown will mark Paul Heckingbottom's 97th game in charge of the club. The 48-year-old took charge in August 2024, just two games into the Championship season. His side just about survived the drop that year, finishing one point above the relegation zone.
The former Sunderland, Norwich, Bradford, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley defender began his managerial career with the Tykes in 2016. He oversaw more than 100 games in just under two years before joining Leeds United. Hibernian followed before he rose through the ranks at Sheffield United to manage their first team 98 times.
Albion's recent record at Deepdale
Preston North End 1-1 Albion, November 2024
The two teams played out a 1-1 draw the last time the Baggies visited Deepdale in November 2024. Karlan Grant's classy lofted finish put Carlos Corberán's team 1-0 up at the break, but the hosts hit back to steal a point. Emil Riis scored ten minutes into the second half to ensure the contest ended level.
Preston North End 0-4 Albion, September 2023
The Baggies produced one of their best away performances in recent years to blow Preston away at Deepdale. Darnell Furlong crashed in an opener from the edge of the box, before Alex Mowatt made it two with a close-range effort. Albion added two further goals in the second period - Matt Phillips' strike taking a deflection which gave Freddie Woodman in the Preston net no chance and Kyle Bartley bundling the ball home just minutes from the end. Check out the highlights below.
Preston North End 1-0 Albion, October 2022
Preston recorded a narrow 1-0 triumph over the Throstles on a Wednesday night in early October of 2022. Emil Riis converted a cross from the left as early as the seventh minute. Albion tried to find an equaliser, but ultimately left Lancashire with nothing.
Memorable meeting
Albion edged a five-goal encounter at Deepdale in September 2018.
Jay Rodriguez's header just three minutes into the second half gave the Baggies a 1-0 lead, but Andrew Hughes' 70th-minute free-kick brought the scores level.
Ben Davies' looping backwards header then drifted over North End stopper Chris Maxwell to make it 2-1 to Darren Moore's outfit, before an outstanding free-kick from Dwight Gayle increased the advantage heading into the dying stages.
Alan Browne nodded in late on for the hosts, but Albion hung on to claim three Sky Bet Championship points. Check out the action below.
Pre-match stats
Albion have won five of their last six fixtures against Preston North End, drawing the other. The last time the Lilywhites beat the Baggies was in October 2022 when Emil Riis' early strike was enough to hand Saturday's hosts all three Sky Bet Championship points.
James Morrison's side are on a seven-match unbeaten run. The last time they went eight without defeat was during a run of 12 between October and December in 2024.
The Baggies have suffered just one loss in their last seven trips to Deepdale - the 1-0 reverse in October 2022.
Preston head into Saturday's showdown four unbeaten (W2, D2). Before that run started, they'd lost four successive matches. They haven't gone five unbeaten since a run of seven between November and December in 2025.
North End have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine home games in all competitions. That shutout came in a 1-0 triumph over Portsmouth in early February.
Colours for the road
Albion will wear their green and yellow away kit at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.
The Baggies last turned out in those colours against Bristol City back in March.
