New Albion head coach Ryan Mason handed pre-season match minutes to 24 players on Friday afternoon as his side secured a 2-0 victory against Port Vale.

Tammer Bany opened the scoring in the first half before Ollie Bostock rifled in a second after the interval at the Baggies’ training base in Walsall.

The majority of the group completed at least half of the behind-closed-doors encounter, with Mason mixing senior professionals and a number of the younger players together in each period.

The first goal arrived within the opening ten minutes. Harry Whitwell drove through the middle of the pitch and slipped the ball into the path of Bany, who slotted into the corner from inside the penalty area

Teenage winger Bostock made it 2-0 in the middle of the second 45. Alex Williams punched a pass into Isaac Price who carried it up towards the edge of the box and laid it square for the academy graduate to hit first time into the roof of the net

Albion head to Austria on Saturday for a week-long pre-season training camp.
