Ousmane Diakité has been granted a period of compassionate leave following the untimely passing of his brother Madou.

Oussie will return to Mali later today to be with his family and will be offered the time and support required to mourn the devastating loss of Madou.

The club extends its deepest sympathies to the Diakité family at this desperately sad time.

Club captain Jed Wallace said: “As a group we are devastated for our much-loved team-mate Oussie and his family following the passing of Madou.

“We know how much Oussie is hurting right now and we hope he can take some comfort from the love we are sending his way.

“We are all thinking of him as he travels home and we will be here to support him when he returns to his family at the club.”
