West Bromwich Albion make the long trip to Norwich City on Wednesday night for their latest Sky Bet Championship test (ko 7.45pm).

The Baggies were left bitterly disappointed in their most recent fixture on Friday night, as Leicester City snatched a point right at the death after what was a very impressive showing from Ryan Mason's men.

Hosts Norwich City have had a mixed start to the campaign, winning two, drawing two and losing three of their first seven second-tier games.

Like Albion, they are without a win in three and drew 1-1 over the weekend, earning a point at high-flying Stoke City.

The opposition

Norwich City will be hoping to secure a first win in four on Wednesday night having drawn two and lost one of their last three matches.

The Canaries' start to the season has been an inconsistent one, winning two, drawing two and losing three of their seven league fixtures, meaning they sit in the middle of the standings heading into the midweek clash with the Baggies.

City have had four disappointing results in league and cup at Carrow Road, losing fixtures against Millwall, Middlesbrough and Wrexham in the Sky Bet Championship and Southampton in the Carabao Cup.

They'll be desperate to change the momentum in front of their own supporters, and boss Liam Manning will be buoyed by the point they collected at Stoke City on Saturday.

Manning, 39, was appointed in the summer having previously worked at MK Dons, Oxford United and Bristol City. He guided the Robins to the Championship play-offs last term and will be targeting a similar achievement with Norwich in 2025/26.

Memorable meeting

The Albion emerged victorious from a seven-goal Sky Bet Championship thriller at Carrow Road in August 2018.

Jay Rodriguez bagged a brace that particular afternoon, with Harvey Barnes and Hal Robson-Kanu also on target for Darren Moore's men.

Norwich's goals were scored by Jordan Rhodes, Teemu Pukki and Grant Hanley.

Albion's recent record at Carrow Road

Norwich City 1-0 Albion, March 2025

The Canaries struck late to steal all three points the last time the Baggies went to Carrow Road. Both teams had opportunities to score, but it was the hosts who managed to put one of those chances away with virtually the final kick. Norwich broke away and Josh Sargent slotted beyond Joe Wildsmith to fire his side to victory.

Norwich City 2-0 Albion, January 2024

City secured all three points when the Albion came to town in the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship season. Josh Sargent scored after just 13 minutes and 1-0 is how it stayed until 19 minutes from time when Jonathan Rowe added a second.

Norwich City 1-1 Albion, September 2022

The two teams couldn't be separated in Norfolk at the start of the 2022/23 campaign. Dara O'Shea nodded in inside the opening ten minutes, but the Baggies were unable to hang on to their advantage. Sam Byram's effort from the edge of the box found the back of the net and the sides had to settle for one point each.

How's that for a stat

There have been three Albion wins, three Norwich City wins and three draws in the last nine meetings between the two clubs.

The Canaries are three games unbeaten against the Albion (W2, D1). The last time the Baggies beat Norwich was on Boxing Day in 2023, 1-0 at The Hawthorns.

Norwich City have lost four straight home matches, last winning in front of their own supporters on the last day of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Baggies have scored exactly one goal in six of their first eight games in all competitions this season.

The home team has remained unbeaten in all of the last seven meetings between the Baggies and Norwich. The last time an encounter between the two was won by the away team was Albion's 4-3 triumph at Carrow Road in August 2018.
