Several Albion youngsters have been earning valuable senior match minutes away from The Hawthorns.
Midfielder Cole Deeming and winger Ollie Bostock both featured in the Enterprise National League for Hartlepool United and Boston United respectively.
Deeming was handed a start for the Pools and completed 70 minutes of their 3-1 home defeat to Worthing. The Baggies academy graduate was replaced by Terry Bondo with 20 minutes to go on an afternoon where strikes from Cory Adjetey-Brew, Ricky Aguiar and Jose Marquez did the damage for the visitors. Will Harris was on target for the hosts.
Bostock, meanwhile, was introduced in the 87th minute for the Pilgrims as they claimed a 3-1 triumph at Forest Green Rovers. He came on in place of Ken Aboh at The New Lawn. Tom Cursons bagged a brace and Lennon Wheeldon added a third for the away outfit, while Jaydon Clarke hit the back of the net for Forest Green.
Goalkeeper Brian Okonkwo made his Leamington debut on Saturday afternoon, completing the whole of their 1-1 draw at home to Gainsborough Trinity in the second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup. Chris Wreh gave the hosts a half-time advantage, but the visitors forced a replay courtesy of Connor’s Brown’s strike on the hour.
The Baggies stopper also played the entirety of Tuesday night’s showdown, one which the Brakes lost 3-0. Javelle Clarke, Lewis Butroid and Fraser Preston all scored to knock Brian’s boys out of the competition.
There was also a King's Lynn Town bow for towering defender Jamal Mohammed on Saturday. The 20-year-old started against Bedford Town in the second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup, a tie his team narrowly lost 2-1. Mohammed got 90 minutes under his belt before being replaced by Adam Rooney in added time.
And finally, right back Alex Williams was an unused substitute for Hibernian up in Scotland. The Edinburgh side drew 1-1 at home to Aberdeen over the weekend.
