Albion’s Isaac Price met France while representing Northern Ireland in a friendly between the two nations on Monday evening.
The attacking midfielder featured for 79 minutes as the Green and White Army put in a valiant showing against the two-time FIFA World Cup champions, but were unable to overturn a 3-1 scoreline at Decathlon Arena Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise had the hosts two goals to the good by the 49th minute, before Barnsley’s Patrick Kelly struck back to ensure Michael O’Neill’s men maintained a foothold in the encounter.
It wasn’t to be for Northern Ireland, however, as Olise polished off his hat-trick with 15 minutes left to play - sending Price’s side home without a positive scoreline to show for their efforts in the final summer friendly of 2026.
