Midfielder Harry Whitwell said he is keen to take any opportunity he gets this pre-season after scoring in Saturday's outing at Shrewsbury.
Albion secured their second 4-1 win of the summer with victory at the Sky Bet League Two side.
Whitwell opened the scoring by netting a smart finish from the edge of the box 15 minutes into the game before Jimmy-Jay Morgan's brace and an Aune Heggebø header completed the scoreline.
And the 20-year-old - who played 90 minutes in Shropshire - is hopeful of taking any chances that may fall his way in the build-up to the 2026/27 campaign.
“I think it was a really positive day," Harry told WBA TV.
“I’ve enjoyed pre-season as a whole. When you feel like you’ve been given an opportunity, it’s really pleasing, so I just want to impress as much as I can and see where that takes me.
“If there’s an opportunity, I hope I can take it. It’s a long season so we’ll see what happens, but I want to grab every opportunity with both hands.
"It’s good when you feel part of the team. Portugal last week was really good. I think we’re building a good team atmosphere and a real togetherness."
Harry's goal was a very well-taken effort from 18-yards, and the youngster says he wants to show the Albion fans more of that goalscoring instinct.
He added: “I’m trying to add a few more goals to my game. It came to me on the edge of the box and I thought there was a gap, so I took the chance and luckily it went in. I think it was a nice finish.
“I like to think that I’ve got the ability to score some of those goals. I only scored one today, but I forced the goalkeeper into some good saves. I like to take some of that responsibility on and get some goals.
“I think everyone’s happy at the moment, but we still have a little way to go before we’re where we want to be for the season.
"I think from that game we’ve got a lot to take forward onto the next with how we were on the ball, dominated it in their half for the majority of the game, nullified their breaks really quickly, and the fourth goal was a really well-worked team goal."
