Baggies skipper George Campbell says his side will "take pride" in every game they play at The Hawthorns this season, starting with Sunday's lunchtime battle with Burnley (ko midday).

Albion kicked the campaign off with wins at Rotherham United and Norwich City, and return to B71 looking to extend their 100 per cent record and make it three successive victories in all competitions.

The recently-relegated Clarets pose the first home test of the 2026/27 term for James Morrison's side, but Campbell is confident the squad and supporters will come together to make it as difficult as possible for the visitors.

"I’m excited to be back in front of the home support again - it’s going to be a great atmosphere," George said. "We know how great The Hawthorns is when the fans are making all the noise, backing the boys and we’re working together as one unit.

"Burnley will try to get after us and we’re obviously still growing into this season. We will make adjustments to see how we can score against them and we’ll try to prevent them from causing any damage.

"They were in the Premier League last year and have a decent record when playing in this division recently, so we know it’ll be a stern test. We’re excited, though.

"We want to show everyone how good we are, which is exactly what Burnley will be thinking too, so I’m expecting a really tough encounter, but a really enjoyable one.

"The gaffer has said we need to take pride in our home games. I want teams to think it’s impossible to win at The Hawthorns because we could be very proud of that.

"There are places in this league you don’t want to go, and I want to make sure teams feel that way about coming to us. For that to happen, we need to be a strong unit on the pitch and have the help and support of the fans off it, which, I’m sure, the Baggies will give us."
