Eesa Amjid stars in England IBSA Nations Cup triumph

England Blind won the IBSA Men’s Blind Nations Cup by beating Iran 1-0, with Albion’s Eesa Amjid the last-minute hero in India.

The scores were level heading into the final second of extra-time between the two sides, with goalkeeper Dylan Malpas keeping the Para Lions level with some excellent saves,

Amjid was the hero of the hour, as he dribbled through four Iranian players before drilling into the near post for the winner with just 0.6 seconds to spare.

The Para Lions set up the final encounter with an unbeaten record after beating Korea Republic, Italy, Poland and India en route to their place in the knockout round – while they also managed a draw against their final opponents.
