Foundation Day 2023 is here, with ‘Football for All’ this year’s focus, as we recognise the many different footballing pathways regardless of ability at The Albion Foundation.
To celebrate the occasion and the different footballing pathways at The Albion Foundation, Baggies boss Carlos Corberán and first-team coach Michael Hefele made a special visit to the WBA Community Sports Hall, where participants from a range of our pathways had gathered.
With a wide range of players from across our footballing pathways in attendance, Corberán and Hefele joined in with the session and gave some words of wisdom to the young athletes.
The clash against Huddersfield Town marks Foundation Day 2023, unfortunately all planned activities at the Fanzone have been cancelled due to recent adverse weather conditions.
We’re encouraging all fans to ‘Bring a Pound to the Ground’ as we look to raise important funds to allow football to be accessible for all.
Rob Lake, Foundation Director said: "We have shown in the past our disability specific work within our football pathway, but we want to highlight all the other football opportunities available to children in our local community regardless of their ability. We do so much in this space it was impossible to cover the breadth of both for this campaign."

A selection of participants from across the different pathways are also set to lead Carlos Corberan’s side out as mascots and flagbearers at The Hawthorns before taking part in a crossbar challenge at half-time on the pitch alongside Brunt and Odemwingie.
Finally, we’re also delighted to be joined by the Baggies Cycle Challenge as they complete their 140-mile journey from Huddersfield to The Hawthorns.
