Young Baggies duo Akeel Higgins and Harry Whitwell were both in action for their respective loan sides over the weekend.
Higgins was brought on in the 81st minute for Exeter City in their Sky Bet League One clash at home to Huddersfield Town, replacing Danny Andrew.
It turned out to be a frustrating afternoon for the winger’s outfit, as the visitors claimed all three points thanks to Leo Castledine’s strike moments before the half-hour mark.
The defeat leaves Exeter 18th in the third-tier standings after ten matches played.

Elsewhere, Harry Whitwell completed 81 minutes of Forest Green Rovers’ 1-1 draw at home to York City in the Enterprise National League.
Harvey Bunker was brought on in place of the Albion midfielder on a day where both goals were scored in the opening 14 minutes. Kairo Mitchell was on target for the hosts, but York quickly equalised when Ollie Pearce converted a spot-kick.
The point means Forest Green stay top of the division, one point clear of Rochdale who have played two fixtures less.
