Albion Women face their first FAWNL Northern Premier Division game of the 2025/26 season with a trip to Loughborough Lightning this weekend.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still’s team begin their campaign at Loughborough University on Sunday (August 17 - ko 2pm).

Baggies supporters can secure a ticket here. They are priced £5 Adults, £3 Concessions (65+), £2 Higher Education Students, £1 Young Adults (16-18) and free for Under-16s.

“It’s been a positive pre-season and we’re really looking forward to getting the competitive action started now,” said Manager Hodgetts-Still.

“The squad is in a strong place. They’ve trained well and put in a lot of work over the summer to get ready for Sunday.

“We know Loughborough will be a strong test, and it should be an exciting game to kick things off.”

Albion will be looking to build on a good 2024/25 season, where they finished seventh in the league and memorably lifted the Birmingham County Cup.

Opponents Loughborough, meanwhile, are back in the third tier after winning the Division One Midlands title last year.

Lightning didn’t lose a single league fixture on their way to securing promotion - ensuring they returned to the FAWNL Northern Premier Division at the second time of asking after missing out narrowly the campaign before.

Coverage of Sunday’s clash will be provided across the club’s social media channels.
