Football for All
WHAT IT IS AND WHY IT MATTERS
Creating inclusive, accessible, and lifelong opportunities through football.
We are the charitable arm of West Bromwich Albion Football Club therefore football is at the heart of our work. The power of football and the kudos of the badge bring people together and grows the love for the game.
We have a football pathway from the age of 2 to adulthood to later life, aiming to provide opportunities for all.
Our pathway will be embedded with exit opportunities as we strive for our players to “achieve their potential” on and off the pitch.
Asiah Janny raised in Smethwick, went to our partner school Holly Lodge, supported by her mum. Fell out of love with football, the Foundation brought her back and she earned a place on the England talent pathway and made her debut for WBA FC Women first team at 16 years of age.
We have a desire and focus to develop our West Bromwich Albion adult disability specific teams to play at the highest level.
We have been National Powerchair champions 5 times, we have won the Blind team domestic treble.
Chris Gordon: Local – WBA Powerchair Player Coach - England Powerchair captain.
Eesa Amijid: WBA Blind Player – England’s youngest International player.
They are the role models who have “achieved their potential.”
We have Jimmy who is a season ticket holder behind the goal in the Brummie Road. He never misses an inclusive disability adult training session or game – he is on our apprenticeship for aspiring coaches, he loves the Albion he loves being part of the family, it gives him a sense of purpose and belonging and we make a measurable difference in his life.
