Albion made it back-to-back Sky Bet Championship wins with an outstanding 3-2 victory over Wrexham on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Isaac Price (2) and Jed Wallace, despite efforts from Lewis O'Brien and Sam Smith, earned Ryan Mason’s men all three points in North Wales.

The visitors grew into the game well, frustrating a buoyant crowd who were experiencing second tier football for the first time in more than 40 years.

And they took the lead on 21 minutes when Tom Fellows beat James McClean down the right before finding Price - the attacking midfielder making no mistake in sweeping home.

Price saw one deflected wide and Furlong drilled narrowly off-target, too, as Albion enjoyed a strong spell following their goal.

But Wrexham finished the first-half strongly, carving out an equaliser via O’Brien to level the game up at the break.

The Baggies threatened early in the second period, however Phillips could only head one attempt wide and see another saved, while Callum Styles also curled off-target.

Conor Coady nodded Wrexham’s best opening wide, though the Welsh outfit were unable to create many more opportunities. Instead, it was Albion that managed to assert their authority on proceedings.

The boss introduced Mikey Johnston and Jed Wallace off the bench with 16 minutes remaining, and the latter made an immediate impact, netting to put the away team back ahead.

Price then wrapped up the points during the final stages, heading home from a brilliant Johnston cross.

There was still time for a consolation goal from the hosts, with Smith heading in from close range, but it did little to dampen raucous scenes in the away end as the points headed back to the Black Country.
