Ryan Mason accepts his side need to start picking up more positive results at home but insists the majority of performances at The Hawthorns so far this term have been “extremely good”.
The Baggies return to Sky Bet Championship action on Saturday afternoon following the October international break with a fixture against high-flying Preston North End in front of their own supporters (ko 3pm).
Albion have one win, two draws and one defeat to their name from their first four second-tier battles in B71.
Mason’s men suffered a disappointing 3-0 setback at Millwall in their most recent match and the boss says the squad are focused on not only showing a reaction, but also what they’re capable of in terms of the level of performance once again.

He said: “The Millwall performance and result was really disappointing. It was below par and we’ve had two weeks to sit on those feelings and that result.
“We want to arrive to Saturday’s game ready to show a reaction and show what we’re capable of. We want to impose ourselves on the game.
“Every team has different strengths in this league and we’re fully aware of the challenge on Saturday, but we’re at home and we want to give a good account of ourselves and win the game of football.
“We’ve been good at showing ourselves so far this season. We believe in what we’re doing and there’s no doubt in what we’re doing. There’s no doubt in the heads of the players.

“The results at home haven’t been good enough, but the performances have been extremely good. We need to try and guarantee a performance on Saturday, and if we can do that, I’m sure the wins are going to come.
“There’s always pressure on us, as well as expectation, because we’re representing West Bromwich Albion. Saturday will be no different for us. Preston will be a test for us and they’ve had a really good start to the season. They’re solid and they don’t concede many goals. The challenge for us is to try and change that and win the game.
“We’re excited to be back in front of our home fans and we’re really focused on making sure it’s a positive afternoon for us all.”
