Albion secured a hard-earned 3-0 victory over Coventry City in the Premier League Cup on Friday evening.
Goals from Remar McNeil and Noah DuPont ahead of the break put the Baggies in a commanding position, before Jack Bray's second-half effort ensured victory against the Sky Blues - who played out the final 20 minutes with ten men at the Your Co-Op Community Stadium.
Leigh Downing's charges got off to the best possible start, taking the lead after just six minutes through McNeil, heading home Ollie Bostock's brilliant cross.
The hosts looked to get back on level terms quickly, but Joe Wallis was alert to save from a smart headed effort, before Coventry fired wide a matter of minutes later.
Albion were soon threatening a second, first through Charlie Blackshields who fired wide, before DuPont did manage to double the visitors' lead - finding the back of the net following an uncleared Alfie Maughan corner.
McNeil had a great chance to fire home a third after a lightning counter early in the second half, but he couldn't find the back of the net.
The hosts blazed over when well placed in the Albion box soon after, before Bostock almost nabbed a third when he saw his strike well-saved after being awarded an indirect free kick inside the Coventry area.
The third eventually came through Bray, pouncing after the hosts failed to clear their lines following another Maughan corner kick.
Bray could've had his second just moments later following a brilliant run from McNeil, who found the striker to fire home - only for the referee's assistant to flag for offside.
Things went from bad to worse for Coventry with 20 minutes to play when they were reduced to ten - Elijah Briscoe being shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball challenge.
With Albion rampant, Bray was denied a certain spot kick after being felled by the goalkeeper - with the flag again offering a reprieve for the hosts before McNeil rattled the crossbar with a brilliant effort moments later.
There was to be no fourth for Downing's side though, who played out the final moments with little fanfare to get off the mark with their first three points in the competition.
