Albion earned an excellent 1-0 victory at Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday evening.

Josh Maja netted the winner to come back with a bang - while a battling defensive showing, led by goalkeeper Josh Griffiths, helped Ryan Mason’s men keep a clean sheet and earn all three points.

The teams were restricted to half-chances during the early stages, with neither goalkeeper troubled until Maja - on his first start since January - opened the scoring around the 20-minute mark.

Sam Iling-Junior’s cross was deflected into the path of Isaac Price, who put it on a plate for the striker to convert from inside the area like he had never been away.

The hosts attempted a quick retaliation, though Emiliano Marcondes’ low strike found Griffiths in the way, and Harry Darling could only Poke over when well placed, leaving Albion one-up at the break.

The battle between Marcondes and Griffiths continued straight after the interval. This time the shot-stopper came out on top again, pushing away a whipped free-kick.

Norwich defender Harry Darling fired one effort wide, and flicked another inches past the far post, midway through the second period as City searched for an equaliser.

But Albion regained control to frustrate the hosts. And despite a late onslaught where Griffiths made two outstanding saves and the Baggies cleared off their line, the visitors just about held firm, earning an outstanding win.
