Albion returned to winning ways by beating Watford 1-0 at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
JJ Morgan’s 36th-minute goal, alongside a resilient defensive effort, helped the Baggies earn three Sky Bet Championship points.
The visitors nearly took the lead within three minutes when Outhmane Maamma tried to finish off a fast counter-attack, but Max O’Leary saved his finish.
After that early scare Albion grew into it and tested Watford’s goalkeeper through Morgan - the striker seeing his volley scrambled away.
The game got a little scrappy towards the end of the first half and both sides created chances. Chris Mepham had to bravely block Iker Bravo’s shot inside the box down one end, shortly before the Baggies broke the deadlock down the other.
Morgan was the man to net, slotting home a close-range finish following good play between Isaac Price and Harry Whitwell in the build-up.
James Morrison’s men held their advantage until the interval and had to ride out a Hornets spell once the match restarted - Ousmane Diakite stopping Bravo from equalising and Martin Payero sweeping a decent opportunity over.
Aune Heggebø, who returned to the starting line-up after a few weeks out, could have then doubled Albion’s lead with 20 minutes remaining. The Norwegian attacker was played in, yet Federico Ravaglia prevented his attempt finding the net.
Stephy Mavididi fired off-target during the final stages, however that’s the closest Watford came to levelling proceedings, leaving the Baggies to claim the victory and preserve their their unbeaten Hawthorns record.
