Three Albion players were in action for their loan clubs over the weekend.

Striker Karlan Grant played the entirety of Cardiff City’s 3-1 defeat at Plymouth Argyle in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Bluebirds took an early lead in Devon courtesy of Perry Ng, but the Pilgrims hit back to claim all three points thanks to efforts from Ryan Hardie (2) and Morgan Whittaker.

The setback leaves Grant’s team 14th in the second-tier standings.

Academy graduate Zac Ashworth started for Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One, playing 71 minutes of their narrow 1-0 loss at Leyton Orient.

The defender was replaced by Randell Williams at Brisbane Road on an afternoon where Daniel Agyei’s second-half goal was enough to condemn Ashworth’s side to a first league defeat in five.

Finally, young goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead secured another 90 minutes of first-team football for Southern League Central Division outfit Alvechurch FC.

The stopper helped The Church to an important 2-1 triumph over Hitchin Town at Lye Meadow, a result which pushed them up to within a point of safety.

The visitors scored first through Josh Popoola, but late goals from Dan Sweeney and Yaw Ofosu swung the points in Alvechurch’s favour.
