James Morrison insists he has “one hundred per cent belief” in his players and reiterated the group are in really “positive place” ahead of Saturday’s trip to Deepdale.
The Baggies take on mid-table Preston North End on matchday 43 in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend (ko 3pm).
Morrison’s men head up to Lancashire on a seven-game unbeaten run with four fixtures left to play in 2025/26 as the battle to stay in the second tier intensifies.
The interim head coach says the squad are “giving everything” and has challenged them to keep grinding out crucial results.
Mozza said: “We’re on a good run. We’re seven unbeaten and we’ve made a really big effort to keep that positivity around the place.
“It’s been nice to have a full week of training because we’ve been able to touch on a few elements. We’re trying to get better each and every day.
“We’re sticking together, too. That’s stood us in good stead over the last few weeks, so we’re trying to maintain that level of togetherness.
“I’m really enjoying leading the team. It’s a different challenge to what I’ve been used to. I’m trying to lead the players in the right way and I’m trying to lead them in a way which I feel is the best way for this football club.
“I’m in a really good place and I feel positive. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead and, as professionals, these are the types of situations that you want to thrive in. Yes, it’s a challenge, but the reward is massive.
“We’ve been in this situation for a number of weeks now, so we know exactly what we need to do. We’ve got to keep turning out performances, staying in games and enjoying the challenges.
“I believe one hundred per cent in my players – they’ve given me absolutely everything. I can’t ask for anymore from them. We’ll continue to work and believe. We have our jobs to do on the pitch. If we keep doing the right things, positive results will come.
“We’ve got a points target in our minds that we believe we need to hit in our last four games. I’ve seen the players hungry to hit that target this week in training.”
“Preston are unbeaten in four and they’ve had some good results recently. Winning away at Charlton in their last game is a good result because Charlton are fighting as well.
“They play a different style to many teams in this division and they’ve got a manager who I’ve come across a couple of times. We know that they won’t be stepping off the gas and we’re expecting a tough game.
“We’re ready for the test. Let’s not forget that we’re in a good place. I don’t want us to play any differently to how we’ve been playing. We need to stick to what’s been getting us positive results.
“I want a positive outcome for everyone, because I feel like we deserve it.”
