New signing Felix Horn Myhre believes he’s joining the Baggies in the “prime” of his career.
The 27-year-old midfielder has penned a three-year deal at The Hawthorns, joining for an undisclosed fee from Norwegian top-flight outfit SK Brann.
Horn Myhre arrives at the Albion having established himself as one of the top talents in the Eliteserien, and proved to be a key component of the team as his former club reached the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League in 2025/26.
He describes himself as a “hardworking midfielder” who “loves to dictate the tempo of games”, and is adamant his maturity and experience can be of huge benefit to the Baggies.
Felix said: “It’s a huge club. The moment I knew I could come here, I was really happy. I was buzzing.
“I had a great talk with the gaffer and I have a really great vision for the club. I see a lot of potential in the group and I’m really excited to get started.
“I think I’m coming here in my prime. I do. My career started off a bit slowly and I struggled getting playing time before going to Brann. However, the last few years have been quite good for me and I’ve been gradually improving.
“I feel like I’ve grown up more and I think I’ve become more of a leader and I have more experience. I’ve been playing in European leagues and in some international games as well. All of that helps me do what I need to do on the pitch, but also helps me help younger players and be a big part of the locker room.
“I’m a hardworking midfielder and I can cover a lot of distance. I like to get into both boxes, I love to have the ball at my feet and I want to dictate the tempo of the game and make the other team run.
“I think I can defend quite well, but some of the things I would certainly like to improve on would be scoring and assisting more. I’d like to help the team more with goal involvements. That’s the most important part of football, so the more improvements I can make in this area, the more chance we will have of winning games.”
Felix is reuniting with forward Aune Heggebø, who made an identical move from Brann to the Baggies in the summer of 2025.
Aune settled into life at the Albion extremely well last term and ended the season as the club’s top scorer.
Horn Myhre says his fellow Norwegian was “influential” in helping him make up his mind about the transfer, and is certain having a friendly face around will make the transition from Scandinavia to the West Midlands a much easier and much more enjoyable process.
He said: “Aune Heggebø has been really influential in helping me come here. I’ve spoken to him a few times and he’s been really, really positive about everything here.
“He’s been praising the culture in the squad, the togetherness in the dressing room, the facilities, the fans and the staff. He spoke really fondly of the coaching staff and he’s really enjoyed his time here.
“When I spoke to him, it was quite clear that this could be a place that I enjoy being at as well. I think him being here will help me a lot. It’s always nice to have someone you can speak your own language to when you go abroad.
“He’s a friend of mine from before so it’ll be really nice to see him again. He’ll be able to help me find a place to live, get to know the group, show me around and help with day-to-day stuff.
“He’s been here for a year so knows plenty about the place. That knowledge will help me settle quicker. I saw quite a lot of Aune playing for Albion last year. I don’t know how many 90-minute games I have watched, but I’ve certainly watched a few. I’ve obviously seen all of Aune’s goals.
“I know last season was a bit tough, but I felt like last year was a year for West Bromwich Albion where the team would hit the post and the ball would roll away, but the opponent would hit the post and it would go in. The new boss took over and things looked a lot better, and I really think that together, we can make this season a really good season.”
