Danny was born on July 27, 2003, and came through National League South club Chelmsford City’s youth set up.

While playing for Chelmsford’s under-18s, he was a number 10 - scoring 23 goals in 11 matches in what proved to be just a few months at that level.

It took until he was 17 to get spotted by a professional side, and Palace were the ones with the sharpest eye, signing the teenager to their under-23s in February 2021.

Danny’s first loan spell saw him return to Chelmsford that summer, and he would play 14 games, scoring once.

Imray scored nine goals from full-back in the 2023/24 season for Palace’s under-21s. He also provided nine assists that year despite playing just 36 games.

Danny scored his sixth goal of that season in February 2024 - a well-taken looping finish over the head of the Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21s’ goalkeeper - and it was nominated for Palace’s Goal of the Month.

His flying form also earned him a place in the squad for the first team’s mid-season friendly against Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt, where he played 45 minutes.

The following season saw Danny head out on an EFL loan for the first time. He joined Bromley in Sky Bet League Two and would go on to play 43 games, scoring twice and providing seven assists in all competitions. His efforts won him Bromley’s Young Player of the Season.

His climb up the leagues continued and the defender swapped London for Lancashire last summer, heading to Sky Bet League One outfit Blackpool. He featured 16 times and provided four goal contributions before being recalled by his parent club.

In his two weeks back in south London, Imray featured on the bench for the first team’s Premier League clashes against Sunderland and Chelsea.
